KUROKAWA INSTITUTE OF ANCIENT CULTURES



This museum houses archeological artifacts such as mirrors and roof tiles from Japan and China, as well as calligraphic works, swords and coins collected over three generations by the Kurokawa Family of stock brokers from Osaka. Exhibits are open to the public for one month in each spring and autumn. It is located in the peaceful residential district of Kurakuen, Nishinomiya, and nearby can be found the Kitayama Gardens and the Horie Music Box Museum.

How to get there: Take the Hankyu or Hanshin Bus for Kabutoyama from Hankyu Shukugawa or Hanshin Nishinomiya, and get off at Kayandocho. 800 m west from there. About 10 minutes by taxi from Hankyu Shukugawa or about 15 minutes by taxi from the North Exit of JR Ashiya.
